CHRISTMAS PARTY 2022 This year we had our Christmas party at Silverthorn Country Club. All of the garden volunteers were invited. Great meal, Great friends and good fun! Thank you to all the wonderful volunteers that work in the Botanical Garden, your hard work makes the Garden an beautiful place for all to share.
APRIL 2022 Our meeting was held at the gardens with a hands on demonstration on propagating and re potting by Kathryn and Angela. Plus we celebrated over 30 years of volunteering from Jim Erickson who has retired now that he hit his 90th birthday. Jim is one of our "pioneers" that began the gardens back in 1993. He has served as president several times during his long involvement with the gardens. He will be missed for his knowledge and good humor, but we will be blessed with his presence from time to time. Jeannie will still be here to keep the front garden looking beautiful.
JANUARY 2022. This meeting was to be held in the new pavilion, however due to rain was cancelled.

OCTOBER 2018 Our meeting was replaced by a bus trip to Cedar Lakes Gardens in Williston followed by lunch at Sweeties Cafe in Dunnellon and free time to visit the shops in town. Grumbles house is a great place to find all sorts of garden art and unusual plants, which came home on the bus with us. With Michael and all the rains, the gardens were partially under water because the water table had risen, but it was beautiful anyway.
SEPTEMBER 2018 MEETING - We are back from a summer vacation, however the weather has not decided to take a break!! Our meeting included a check presentation to Maureen from People Helping People and a talk by Michael Terry from the Hernando Co Sheriff's Dept about the Community Programs available to us all. Several programs really caught my eye Careline is a call in program for people to check in with the Sheriff's Dept daily so that you are never alone, what a great program for elderly and/or those who live alone. The Wanderer program provides a tracking device that can be put on a person who is known to wander, this device is not easily removed, and will find that person if they have wandered off. A great peace of mind for loved ones. Check with the Hernando Sheriff's office for more information about these or other programs available.
4th of July picnic was great fun. Hot dogs and pot luck, how good is that!!!
